Worcestershire Cricket Foundation Safeguarding Newsletter December 2024

I hope everyone got what they wanted from Father Christmas – unfortunately, I did not win the lottery so will have to keep hounding you all. Although Christmas is a long distant memory ago, I want to remind you all about some fantastic events happening in the next month.

Post Christmas get together

This is a reminder that all Club Safeguarding Officers (and deputies) have been invited to attend a post-Christmas get together with food and drink provided on Friday 17th January 2025 from 6.30 pm – 9.30 pm. Food will be served at 7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet all of the local Club Safeguarding Officers, share ideas and good practice, and network. I have attached the agenda for the evening.

Please can you reply to this newsletter to let me know if you will or will not be attending as I need to book and pay for the food.

Safe Hands Workshop

The next Safe Hands workshop will be held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club on Wednesday 29th January from 6.30 pm – 9.30 pm. This is mandatory training for all Club Safeguarding Officers and needs to be renewed every 3 years. Lots of you have enrolled already which is great but we still have lots of spaces left.

Click Safe Hands Workshop to book on to the workshop.

NSPCC/CPSU Listen up, Speak up Campaign

Please promote this amazing training. This is for all parents, carers, coaches, volunteers and ANYONE who wants to gain an insight into keeping children safe. The event will be held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club on Monday 3rd February 2025 from 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm. The poster to put up in your clubs and send out via email is attached. Please use the link below to book to attend.

Please share this with EVERYONE associated with your club.

The aim of this year’s campaign is to focus on the importance of building stronger, more inclusive communities around sporting and activity clubs, encouraging parents and carers to look out for not just the young people taking part, but their families too, helping anyone who needs support to get it sooner.

The training will be led by the NSPCC and will also be attended by a number of WCC players who will be showing their support.

More information can be found at The CSPU

Club Safeguarding Poster

This is just a reminder to all clubs to put up the Safeguarding poster. This is an important part of ensuring everyone within your club is safeguarded.
