SEND Schools Programme

Worcestershire Cricket Foundation delivers cricket programmes to SEND schools and specialist units within mainstream schools throughout the academic year.

Thanks to funding from the Lord’s Taverners WCF have funding to support the delivery of the SEND school programme.

Table Cricket

Table cricket is an adapted version of cricket that is played on a table cricket table or any other flat surface. This form of cricket is specifically designed for players who have a limited range of movement, providing them the chance to play and compete in a sport that they may not have had a chance to do before.

SEND School Competitions

We offer a number of SEND competitions including:

  • Table Cricket County Finals – Thursday 26th February 2026
  • Softball Skills Festivals – TBC
  • Softball Pairs Cricket festival – TBC

Table Cricket County Finals:

All schools are then invited to a county table cricket competition where they have the opportunity to play competitively in a fun and friendly environment. This competition allows pupils to put all their skills and tactics learnt into practice against other schools.

The competition winners have the opportunity to progress to the Lord’s Taverners Regional Finals, where they will have the opportunity to play against other counties winners. If they win the regionals, they will progress to the national finals which take place at Lords Cricket Ground, the home of cricket.

Has had a great impact

The collaboration between Worcestershire Cricket Foundation and Heart of Worcestershire College has been transformative for our Higher Education learners. The inclusive sport initiative, particularly the introduction of table cricket, has had a great impact on our students, fostering not only greater knowledge of adapted/ inclusive physical activity but also social engagement and personal growth through tournament delivery at the School games.
