Fladbury Cricket Club is proud to celebrate the launch of its new junior Under 10s team, a milestone that reflects the success of the club’s All Stars and Dynamos programmes over the past few years.
What began as a focus on introducing young people to cricket in a fun, inclusive environment has now grown into a thriving pathway for junior players to take their next steps in the game.
The All Stars and Dynamos sessions have attracted strong participation from local children, helping them develop fundamental cricket skills, confidence, and, most importantly, a love for the sport. Through engaging coaching, supportive volunteers, and enthusiastic families, the programmes have created a welcoming community that has encouraged many youngsters to continue playing beyond their first experiences.
Club volunteer Joseph Essex, who has been instrumental in the continued success, has said: “Within two years of offering Dynamos, and later All Stars, for local children, we have established a solid foundation of young talent. With strong support from the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation, we have been able to take the club to the next level by establishing a junior team, as well as progressing some of the older talent into the newly formed 2nd XI”
“The club has made fantastic progress in building a junior pathway that will help secure its long-term future, demonstrating how national youth programmes can offer a welcoming and accessible entry point for young cricketers.”
The formation of a dedicated U10s team is a fantastic reward for everyone involved and highlights the club’s commitment to junior development. Fladbury Cricket Club looks forward to seeing these young players represent the club, continue their cricketing journeys, and form the foundation of a strong future for the club both on and off the field.
