Worcestershire Cricket Foundation can announce that County Safeguarding & EDI Lead Cheryl Instan-Smith will be departing the organisation at the end of August.
Cheryl departs the role having been in post for over two years, which saw her lead on Safegaurding for both the Foundation and Worcestershire County Cricket Club. She leaves with the best wishes of everyone in the team.
Cheryl said: “As I leave my role as County Safeguarding Officer, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone I have had the pleasure of working with. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many passionate people who share the same commitment to making cricket a safer, more welcoming and inclusive sport for everyone.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together and grateful to everyone who has played a part in that journey. I hope the work we have started continues to grow and that cricket continues to move towards the ECB’s ambition of becoming the most inclusive sport.”
As a result of Cheryl’s departure, we will be recruiting for a new ‘Safeguarding & Workforce Manager’ role, which will be full-time with the Foundation only.
