On Wednesday, 12th March, Lacey – a dedicated Chance to Shine Street participant from Bromley-Pensnett – had the incredible opportunity to attend the House of Lords for the launch of Chance to Shine’s Impact Report. This special event celebrated the participants featured in the report, bringing together key stakeholders, MPs, and even a few well-known faces to reflect on the charity’s achievements and future goals.
Lacey was selected by both our team and Chance to Shine to be featured in the report, recognising her unwavering commitment, perseverance, and remarkable progress at her Street sessions. Since attending her first session at the start of 2023, she has participated in over 80 sessions, missing only two – one of which was for this very event!
The morning was filled with inspiring moments, including a passionate speech from Lord King about the ongoing impact of cricket, insights from a teacher whose school has greatly benefited from Chance to Shine, and an exciting meeting with Lacey’s local MP, Sonia Kumar. The day was made even more memorable with a fantastic photo opportunity alongside England cricketer Tymal Mills!
Lacey and her mum, Sian, had a truly unforgettable experience, topped off with a special tour of the Houses of Parliament, courtesy of Sonia.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lacey, Sian, Sonia, and Chance to Shine for making the day so special!
