This is followed by a Q&A with our inspirational guest speaker. \n  \nQ&A with Sue Redfern\nAfter the Walk we will settle into our seats to listen to our Brilliant guest speaker\, Sue Redfern. \nSue is currently an international umpire but was a former cricketer who played in the England’s Women’s team between 1995 and 1999 including the 1997 world cup. \nIn 1992\, Redfern started her county career with East Midlands\, moving on to Derbyshire in 1997 and Staffordshire in 2003. At the age of 17\, she participated in European Championship matches against the Netherlands\, Denmark\, and Ireland in July 1995\, marking the start of her international career. Later in the year\, she made her Test debut against India. \nPost playing career Sue went into umpiring at club level cricket. After a couple successful years she made her way into the international scene. She was one of four female umpires selected by the ICC to officiate games in the Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in January 2017. She was the first female player to participate in a Women’s Cricket World Cup and later serve as an umpire in a competition. More recently\, In September 2023\, she made history as the first woman to serve as an umpire in a first-class match in England and Wales. He’s been iconic on the radio is the midlands and has worked in music / media since the 1970s. \nMurfin founded Murfin Music International (and related companies) that specialise in producing jingles for radio stations across the UK and internationally. He has written and produced musical themes and signature sounds for many stations and media outlets. This is followed by a Q&A with our inspirational guest speaker. \n  \nQ&A With Richard Stemp\nAfter the Walk we will settle into our seats to listen to our Brilliant guest speaker\, Richard Stemp. \nRichard\, Former Worcestershire and England A Cricketer known for his brilliant left arm spin bowling\, was a fantastic bowler who also played Yorkshire\, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire across a career of 12 years from 1990 – 2002. \nStemp played for Worcestershire between 1990 – 1992. The rest of his career was shared across Yorkshire\, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Stemps career in list A and First class cricket was impressive\, taking 546 wickets in 319 games. He then went onto play for England A in tours to India\, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Taking two 5-wicket hauls\, 6-83 and 5-64. Stemp also received a call up to the England squad in 1994 to New Zealand but unfortunately didn’t make the 11. \nRichards career of 12 years was very impressive\, but as we know cricket experiences lots of highs and lows\, and are not all straight forward. He was a fantastic bowler who played for Worcestershire\, Somerset and Derbyshire. \nRumsey played for Worcestershire between 1960 – 1962. For six seasons Rumsey was a fixture in the Somerset side\, taking a total of 547 first-class wickets. He then went onto play five test matches for England against Australia\, South Africa & New Zealand in the mid-1960s. \nFred’s career statistics are most impressive but during his time he also made a big impact off the pitch. During the winter of 1967/68\, Somerset appointed Rumsey public relations and fund raising officer. It was the first appointment of its type in English first-class cricket. He was a key figure in the Worcestershire side from 1979 to 1997\, taking over the Captain role between 1992 – 1995. \nTim had a very successful career\, helping Worcestershire win the County Championship in 1988 and 1989\, the Refuge Assurance League in 1987 and 1988\, and the Benson & Hedges Cup and Refuge Assurance Cup in 1991. Lastly\, Leading the county to success in the 1994 NatWest Trophy. \nCurtis’s career statistics are most impressive\, scoring over 31\,000 runs across all formats of the game.
